With home advantage germany will be tough to beat, although I think Argentina is the stronger side.

The first seriously good game of the tournament I reckon. I think Germany will scrape it..but it will be close.

2-1 Germany.

0-0 at the half.

Not a whole lot of action going on. I'd say Germany is getting the benefit of the calls, but the ref is being letting them play. Only 1 yellow card thus far. At this rate, it looks like a goal could win it for anyone.

First half: Argentina demonstrated its superior passing, Germany its better defense.

Yet Germany's forwards had more shots than Argentina's.

Second half, cream rises to the top: 1-0 Argentina.

I'd predicted a 4-1 Argentina finish, and it's looking like it'll be more like 2-1.

Germany's shooting has impressed me, but their ball control is average.

Neither team are in Brazil's class. I'm amazed at the gulf in skill level between the Brazilians and everyone else. And I am NOT a Brazil fan. I root for underdogs like Portugal.

Klose heads one in!!!

1-1

Argentina's goalie: subbed out due to injury
Riquelme: subbed out
Crespo: subbed out

It's starting to look like OT. Which I'd say looks good for the Germans due to the above subs. 2-1 Germany.

Oh and Rodriguez just gets tackled in the box - and gets a yellow card!
Lehmann barely saves a header!

Oh my.

Rodriguez dove and justifiably deserved the card...

That header wouldn't of counted if it went in anyways because that player in front of Lehmann was way offside...

No Klose for Germany either... subs are going to have to come through...

Here's hoping Germany pulls it off... I like seeing Klinsmann dance around like Wackers.

Germany has turned the game around, it seems to have happened after the sub Odonkor came on the pitch, he has played brilliantly for them.

Less of a dive than what got Italy a free kick against Australia. Overall, this ref has done a pretty good job of keeping the book in his pocket.

Looking a lot like a shootout.

Going to shootout.

Argentina is much deeper in talent.

Germany better stop them in the first five. Extra shots goes to the Argentines I'm sure.

Upset? No upset.

Germany have a huge advantage as hosts (ever seen how many times the host has won the World Cup?). And they have a fairly strong team. As every football fan knows.....never write off the Germans!!
