| I will be teaching a three week summer camp at a university south of Seoul. Is it worth it to bring my laptop? Are there wireless connections? Would it be safe to leave it in my room if I am staying in a dormitory? Is it even necessary? |

For three weeks I wouldn't bother for severall reasons
you will be very busy at the camp teaching
its a hassle to lug around the world for a short time
PC rooms here are dirt cheap and lightening fast
there is certainly a chance that it will be lifted, that would suck
wireless connections are sometimes not so reliable
you may have free internet access at the camp
use the PC rooms, theyare around 1 dollar per hour |

I concur, for three weeks it's not worth carrying it here. If you were staying longer, then it would be a good idea.
And yes...the PC rooms are dirt cheap. |

| i would bring it. i am bringing mine. i think i will be using it in class for certain things. as for wireless, i wouldnt be surprised as this is korea we are talking about. as for pc rooms, if you are working at a camp chances are their wont be one within miles. if nothing, it will be good to have when you are just relaxing after your 12 hour day. you wont find much on tv and might be missing that complete season of south park you downloaded. just be careful not to leave it in stupid places. when i travel with mine, i slide it under the mattress somewhere concealed in the room. |

| The PC rooms are good, but most don't have computers that allow you to upload photos to put on your web page, if you want to do so. They have a USB port, but no photoshop program. |

Ummm...'camp' doesn't necessarily mean there is a lake and horses to ride. 'Camp' is the new word Koreans use for 'summer school program'. The OP said he/she will be at a university south of Seoul.
If I stand at the bus station in my little town of 7,000 people, I can see 3 PC bahngs within 30 meters. There is at least one other in town.
It would be a pretty safe bet to make that everyone in Korea except farmers live within a 10 minute walk of a PC bahng. These places are everywhere. |

| I will mention that when I was at a camp, there was an early curfew (11? 10:30?) which made it nearly impossible to visit a PC Bang after the kids were down for the night. There were a few small computer labs in the dormitory, but they also closed at 11:00. |

i know what a camp is. i've worked at a few. the ones i taught at were at company training centers out in the middle of nowhere. and as for a university....some of them are isolated, and to walk to a pc room would take a good 20 minutes maybe. so there  |
