What I don't get is why they think nose-blowing is so disgusting.

Everyone's sick in my office, and they persist in sniffling so hard that I can hear the mucus being pulled back into their skull. Having sniffled that hard once or twice in my life, I KNOW they must be tasting it. GROSS!

How can it be worse to force others to hear someone expelling snot into a clean tissue, than to hear someone snorting bucketfuls of snot into their throats?

I almost want to ask them after three or four times within a few minutes: "Is it delicious?"

Meh, different strokes for different folks.

However, I think you should ask them next time, that's just funny. Please report back with the responses.

I think the sound of someone honking their nose off into a tissue sounds gross, too. But, it's a necessary evil. Kind of like food sounds. Even when someone's mouth is closed, you can usually still hear the food squishing around. It's insonorous, sure, but there aren't many other options.
