| Bowling was a sport that I enjoyed in my former life in the states and I would like to pick it back up. Can anybody suggest an alley around Bundang and around Seoul (Hongdae)? Also, I've heard that certain places don't allow you to bring beer in. Bowling without beer? What's that? How have your experiences been at these places? |

You've been walking around with your nose pointed at the sidewalk again, haven't you? There are bowling alleys all over the place. Just keep your head up and look for giant bowling pins on top of buildings.
I've never seen one that serves beer, but that doesn't mean there isn't one. (Koreans take their bowling very seriously.)
I'd suggest just bagging up a few bottles at the convenience store and start in. If anyone says anything, just play the stupid foreigner card and offer them a glass and see what happens. If it doesn't work, go back to the convenience store and buy soju. Return to the bowling alley, buy a Coke and do a discrete mix. Then drink and bowl.
If that doesn't work, buy an unwanted birthday cake at the nearest bakery and some bottles of alcohol of your choice and take them back to the bowling alley...and share with everyone. |

SO TRUE!
For njp6.. there is a bowling alley right in the underground attached to the subway station at Hongik University.. its near Outback Steakhouse. Anyways.. if you are in the station.. just start walking in the Shinchon direction of the subway and keep an eye out on the left side for exits.. one of them leads right into a bowling alley.
As for beer.. they don't sell them there.. but fairly easy to grab a few at 7-11 and bring them in. Its Korea, no one really seems to mind or be phased by that at all. |

| Last summer all the Korean punks were obsessed with bowling. They'd go to an alley four nights a week. It got to the point where I started to hate bowling. Bowling jangs are everywhere. |
