Well after giving my school a fair warning about 3 months ago of working us to long of hours I finnaly got fed up and decided that I had enough and I needed to quit.
To my suprise the Korean teachers were very disapointed, I don't know why. I have been acting like a jerk for that past month, if I were them I would have said good riddence. I guess the stress of open classes and bullshit like not smiling enough was starting to irk me. Lots of classes and the overall TPR demand was just to high and it was seriously draining my energy levels. Added bs of open classes just pushed me passed the no return point, and since I never bluff it was a shocker even for the weaguks.
I tought kindy and elementary and I loved it I had a lot of fun so did the kids. Kind of sad cause I was only 4 months into my new contract.
Oh well. Time for a new Job. I want to stay in Korea but I also have a job waiting for me back home so either way its not a negative thing for me. The only thing left now is to pack up rest of my stuff and endure the last 30 days. |

Who knows what the Korean teachers are thinking. I had some teachers and even students last year who were "surprised and disappointed" that I was quitting........after not being paid for 2 months.
Some of them had quit themselves and then gone back for more of the same.
I can't figure it out.
They can't seem to understand why teachers would even complain about some of these ridiculous working conditions. |

if your supervisor keeps throwing the T- word around as a sign of her in-the-know professionalism, actually ask her what it means one day. |

You guys are fricken nuts? No Korean knows what TPR is. I just taught myself how to teach, not all waegukin are "ignoranuses". Total Physical Response is just to damn long to type.
My director is a complete and total moron when it comes to teaching. She never taught a day in her life. |

This is not particularly news on a site like this one. |

Isn't that so true? Good job to the OP for actually taking things seriously. At my old hogwan they had had so many complainers who never actually did anything about their problems that I think I caused a major shock to their system when I stood up and put my money where my mouth was. |
