Do you have nothing better to do? Seriously. The person probably heard most software is of the illegal kind and is wondering before spending money. For the OP, technomart should be pretty safe if they have software (not sure). I know there is a technomart across from the East Seoul bus terminal (on the green line, I forget the stop name, sorry). But the software is probably all in Korean.
Hopefully someone can point you in the right direction in Yongsan. I remember Den Den Town in Japan had English legal software, so I am sure there is some somewhere there. |

Where would you buy legal software back home? In a store? On the net? Why not try those places here. I know you can go to Wal-Mart to buy Office XP Student for about 80.000 or so, but is that what the OP wanted? I don't know.
OP, what kind of software are you looking for? Where have you looked?

At what point did I say the OP was stupid? I simply said the question was kind of stupid. If you want help, you have to give more information. Simple as that. He asked a question without giving enough information, and that invites people to need clarification, or to give a very general answer.

And as for China...are we in China? No, therefore I did not even consider what the buying circumstances are like there. If we had been in China, I might have offered different advice.

Yongsan station - 7th, 8th and 9th floors.
If you are looking for microsoft products, look for the microsoft booth.
Games of all kinds are there too, English and Korean.
Is there something specific you were looking for?
You can also buy legal stuff at e-mart, wallmart, homeplus, lotte department stores, to name a few.
Just look in or close to the book section. |

But many people new to Korea probably don't really realize it is different than China, Hong Kong, etc. The OP could have heard rumours and just equated them together. Heck, if I heard they did something like that in America, I would assume they would do the same in Canada. Anyways, that is why I put that.
Unfortunately, because people like Demophobe would rather attack FIRST (the OP attacked a sarcastic remark, and you know it. The OP did not start the attacking), some people need to get on a high horse and put these pathetic, useless people in their place. THere was no need for it, and this is the third time I have seen him answer with only pure sarcasm and no help. The world needs a whole lot less of him in it. |

How can't the OP already know this much; that there are really only Technomart and Yongsan? Anyone who has a computer in this country knows these 2 places....if they don't, they haven't read anything about Korea, have no friends and don't go out.
I spend a lot of time in tech trying to help people here and have helped many, but they have to bring something to the table. That is just a common courtesy. If you go the doctor and say "I hurt.", how do you think he will respond? Or in Job Discussion: "My job sucks. Why?"
Ignore the thread? Sure....good option. You should choose it yourself.
At least the OP knows that someone is reading and will help if they can at least be a tad more specific. A tad. "Where can I buy English games, an OS, word processing, video editing"...anything at all and a specific answer will ensue.
Some people just can't help themselves and need some schooling. Look at the OP....nothing. A single sentence. And a really silly one at that. "Where can I buy legal software?" Come on...who on earth doesn't know the answer to this? A store. So how about "Which store is best to buy legal software?" This makes sense.

I have no doubt you have done it more than three times, but I have only seen it 3 times so can only comment on that.
I shouldn't ignore this thread cause I was going to (and did) post some relevant help. If you are serious, you could have said,
