Does this seem an extraordinary amount of work to anyone else?

Having sat around for the last week having very little to do because of exams, I've just been hit with my Summer camp schedule. I work in a public elementary school which is ultra-organised and efficient and do have a few issues, particulary with the co-teaching style and the expectations on my newby teaching shoulders. Think they were expecting a teaching guru to reform their whole teaching system? Unfortunately I'm not that guy. I've resolved to do my best though and get on with things. This schedule is intense though:

Basically I'm to prepair from scratch 35, 80 minute lessons. I'm to produce a lesson plan for the master to check and a handout for the student's parents. I'm not a complete tool and have some good ideas for some lessons, but 35x80 mins seems like a huge task.

Has anyone else found themselves in a similar position?

Does anyone have a magical solution?

Is there a 'Planning for Summer Camp' book available on the market?

i had to make one of these for a whole semester one time, but i had the feeling it was just going to be a waste of paper used in case a parent had a concern. so, i basically just BS'd my way through it, and didn't follow it much at all. All you have to do is choose the target language/topic of the lesson, state an activity and exercise, and fill it out with some more BS. This was also at a public school that was ultra organised. But I dont think anyone actually looked at it too closely. I'm sure you could re-gurgitate a few good lesson plans, change them a bit according to level, and no one would know the difference. On this website there is an "idea cookbook" or something that can help you out with lesson plans. Hate to suggest this but I'm sure the authors who posted these activities wouldn't mind if you cut and pasted some of the stuff into your lesson plan spread sheet. Sometimes its not so much the suggestion that I should have a 4 month plan figured out (understanbable), but the piece of paper they give me that is supposed to hold this information. Lots of nice little squares that I'm supposed to write in. good luck with that.
