I saw a program on KBS 2 last week about eating octopus. Live octopus that was still wrigging and crawling around when it was on peoples plates! I think I'm pretty thick-skinned but this really freaked me out...

The most shocking part for me was when an ajumma was on the beach, and was pulling them fresh out of the muddy sand, and eating them there and then!! Has anybody eaten live octopus here Question

I remember once I was eating some octopus with bunch of people I didn't know and I accidentally busted the ink sac inside the octopus, and it turned all the soup black, and I think people thought I was an *sshole.

I've eaten the squirming live octopus tentacles. It just tastes like raw octopus, i.e. hardly any taste at all. It is freaky though to feel them wiggle in your mouth. I've never had the nerve to do the Old Boy style whole-squid-in-the-mouth thing. Anybody ever done THAT?

i like octopus, both raw (live) and cooked. the sa-nakji (live) is a bit weird, but i like it sliced up and covered with sesame oil. it's not really alive ... just nerve endings at work. some ajoshiis like to eat a whole live small octopus, but i think that is ridiculous and a good way to choke to death. if you want cooked octopus, try the nakji bulgolgi or the nakji bokem -- both are delicious, but spicy.

is that how you justify killing an innocent creature? I didn't realise octopii were just programmed bots without any consciousness.
