I can't find a reference right now, but I heard at an immigration conference in the US that 400,000 Korean nurses were expected in the US. Korean nurses?!? At least recruit nurses from a country that has some concept of bedside manner!

Also read a NYT article about how nurses were being recruited from the Phillipines as well. The nurses study English especially so they can have an opportunity to go to the US.

The New-speak term is called "in" - sourcing.

CHEAP CHEAP, double-plus good !!!

btw - I'd heard that number was 40,000 not 400,000.

Don't have my notes with me, but remember it was in the hundred-thousands. Would have said 200,000 as a second guess, but in any case, would the ambulance please take me to the emergency room with the African or Filipina nurses, please?

Cleveland public schools are insourcing (is that really what they're calling it?) Indian teachers, i.e. teachers from India. I hope they get hazard pay for the gun-shot wounds.
