http://www.freephotosandvideos.com/

A lot of obvious things missing, but amazingly obscure stuff in among the mainstream.

Highlights (for me):

The Beasties when they were teenagers
Ice-T and Dre only slightly older
The goofy mish-mash of One Night in Bangkok
A My Bloody Valentine song I'd never heard
A video for Freak Scene (Dino Jr.)I'd never seen
A Specials video
MARRs
Kraftwerk
Ricky Gervais(!)
and
John Denver introduces Herbie Hancock playing "Rockit" at some ancient grammy awards where a lot of people had probably never heard someone scratch a record.

If you can sit through that Billy Squier video....wow.

The Husker Du really tells me again where Green Day came from.

Got to love this site...

Salt and Pepa - Chunky gold and Cosby hair cuts - "only the sexy people"

Afrika Bambatta - Voguing in fancy dress with breakdancing montages before there was a baggy pants dress code.

Rick James - Before cocaine, a dentist and Charlie Murphy got to him.

Nick Cave - Never saw the clip for Mercy Seat before.

Midnight Oil - Just getting to see Peter Garret (now a Member of Parliment) do his spaz dance one more time.

Miker G and DJ Sven - Watching a skinny white guy with pastel leisure suit and porn star mo rapping.

Joy Division - Ian Curtis and his Vox Phantom strapped too high.

Grace Jones - A woman so cool she made 80s styles look good.

Grand Master Mel and the Furious Five - Directed by Spike Lee? This is where Spike Jonez got his idea for Praise You.

Realising there was more to the 80s than bad hair with bands like Scraping Foetus and Revolting C*cks

Does anyone know if Mike Score is now hopelessly cross-eyed?

PWEI...

Pop Will Eat Itself??? I'm pretty sure it was kind of "merry" even back then.

Was it the use of the word 'gay' that set PC alarms ringing??

NONONONO. Smile Cool

We are having a board miscommunication.

I was just very, very much agreeing with your assessment. Then I explained that, none too well, then I just threw in the PWEI comment as a random nostalgic non sequitur.

As they say: my bad.

Idea I need to use more emoticons.... Arrow Very Happy Smile Smile Very Happy Wink

Easy.

Get the Firefox extension or use the site itself.
