Sweden has the nicest sounding national anthem so far at the world cup.
I suppose its to be expected with talent like Abba. |

And I'm not taking the anti-Korea piss. I have always thought it is the most deep, haunting, surreal anthem there is. |

Agreed, it has a haunting, powerful feel to it. I always used to like hearing it at traffic lights whenever I visited Japan.
But the USSR's (even though they're not in the WC; bummer; maybe in 2010) nat'l anthem is the coolest, I'd say. It's like the Imperial March from Star Wars (I may have just stolen that comparison from a popular writer; I'm not sure).

| No question about it. The Russian / Soviet anthem is the most powerful of them all. Turn up the volume on it and its unbeatable. The Israeli anthem is perhaps the saddest sounding. Korea's is quite nice as well. (Never heard the Japanese anthem.) |

America's
HAHAHAH
joking, just joking. But perhaps the American anthem is the most fitting one. It has the sound of overproduced pop trash, sort of like American pop culture. |

| I must agree. I think the Korean national anthem is quite nice. I may criticize Korea for certain things but their national anthem is not one of them. |

| Italy's doesn't really sound like an anthem. More of a sort of upbeat circus bugle. |

Is that the name of the tune at the traffic lights in Japan?Kimi ga yo?I always do a double take when I hear it.
I'd have to go with Russia...very mani-depressive sounding Russian stuff.
The South Americans have the jauntiest. |
