I think it would be helpful to try and find this information, as I am interested in working in a public school setting again, but I don't want to do it with EPIK. I know many schools opt out of the EPIK arrangement and prefer to hire their own teachers, and to give them the summer and winter vacations fully off. Sadly, these kinds of situations are not as abundant as they were before EPIK got too big for its own boots, but I think its worth it to hunt them out anyways. I know that schools that belong privately to a University more often than not do not do EPIK.

I know Kwangwoon Dae Elementary in Seokgye area, and Chungand Dae Elementary across the river in Heuksuk. They get thumbs up from me.

I believe that no elementary schools work with the EPIK system.

I would think that it is not EPIK-related whether a school decides to hold a camp or not. It's more likely the school itself or the Boards of Education that decide.

My Board of Ed sends out a notice to schools asking if they will be holding a camp or not. The schools reply Yes or No. I'm on EPIK but my city moves me to a new school once a year. My last school didn't hold a camp, but my first school and present school will be.

I guess it depends on the area. I'm not in Gepik or Epik but my school is in Gyeonggi-Do. Therefore, the Gyeonggi Education Office still sent a letter to my school demanding I do a one week camp. I still get three weeks off tho.
