I just thought I would share this information with anyone thinking of flying their animals home with them into Canada. I am taking my Indy home this summer and I have been looking into all the logistics and to be quite frank, it's really easy. He needs a rabies vaccination and certificate issued by the vet and that is pretty much it. You need to make a reservation in advance with your airline to ensure there is room for your animal, especially if it's going in the cargo section of the aircraft.
Some airline limit the number of animals you can bring back: usually one dog, or two small puppies, or one/two cats/kittens. Make sure you check if you are planning to take more than one animal with you.
There is no quarentine for dogs coming into Canada, provided they have been vaccinated.
If you need more information about what you can and cannot bring into Canada, you can check here: http://www.inspection.gc.ca/english/anima/heasan/import/petse.shtml
I hope this information is helpful to others bringing their pets home to Canada. |

What's up with this thread? No complaining. No arguing. No blasting someone for something. All you did was put up information that is pretty important to some people and seems to be very helpful (and should possibly even be made a sticky). What's wrong with you?? |

I put this information up on this website 3 years ago. Did it not come up on this site's STELLAR search function? |

| Which airline are you using? I've noticed that some won't be able to accomodate my large dog. |
