Well this afternoon's NORAD meet-and-greet was a bit of a gin-and-tonic piss-up hey Very Happy I gotta tell ya it was GREAT to hang out with some Canucks for a change. Bagpipes, the whole bit. Our military looked absolutely fab in their dress mess and by god they can party waaaaaay harder than their American counterparts--even if the boss is around--especially if the boss is around.
We even got to razz the general Very Happy

The True North Strong and Free!!!

Happy Canada Day!!!

O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.

With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!

From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

Yup. And tomorrow I'm going to be a pissed-as-a-boiled-owl Canadian tool, sitting in my backyard listening to BTO here in Colorado. So *beep* you.

Oh P.S. You just reminded me to put my very %$!*!! giant Canadian flag outside on the pole for all the neighbours to marvel at tomorrow morning. Thank you.

Where did the crack against Americans come from? People like you are an embarrassment to Canada. You're talking out of your hat. After working with people from many nations all I can say is that there are very few nations other than America that I'd like to live next to. Americans have a positive "can do" attitude and are generally friendly. I admit that I am not very fond of Americans grandstanding, but I like people like you even less. You show that we are in fact NOT better than the Americans.

Oh for god's sake lighten up--we're talking partying here---and if you've been to enough military functions that had both countries' military present (like I have and I'm guessing you haven't), you'd be surprised that even the Americans say the same thing about the Canucks.

P.S. I happen to be married to Major Awesome, US Army, so yeah, that's how much I must dislike them Rolling Eyes

Canuk's not a tool.

She's a drunk Canadian posting with a buzz. So what?

She married an officer of the U.S. military. As a former enlisted guy, I hate officers. But I forgive her.

Let her enjoy her drunken posts. But I hope she will remember to watch her language. I happen to be a virgin.

When I have a beep it's because I've really written "*beep*"--pretty square I know, but it's more fun letting people use their imagination.

I met a very cool guy at yesterday's party--WW2 vet--he was part of the real gang immortalized in the movie The Great Escape with Steve McQueen.
Great stories!

God, I really hate Jarheads.

Actually, I dated a jarhead. Her name was Noemi. She was a Mexican girl. But except for Noemi, I hate all Jarheads.

To be honest, I've met a few I liked.

Mainly I just hate officers--Army, Navy, Marines, Airforce. I just hate them.

By the way, it's USMC.

Canada Day. Rolling Eyes

A good place to be on this day is Ottawa. Big party there.

Anyway, it's a long weekend back home. Good time to go to the beach, canoeing, camping, to the cottage, pool party, etc.

No silly, hub's not Marine Corps.

USMA = United States Military Academy aka Westpoint = Army.

He's a civilised, modest guy and most people are surprised when they find out he's USMA--some of the officers out of Westpoint can be real prigs.

Someone's gotta lead and give orders Very Happy

"Ring day" for hub at Westpoint...he's the one facing the crowd...I've always liked this photo:
