Hey, that's really interesting. Thanks. Yea, I am bored and daydreaming about moving on to bigger and better things myself.
This is quite a journey. It is to take him 18 years to walk around the world. First thing I thought, was that he is a rich man just doing his dream. Fact is, he set off with only $800! Unbelievable risk taking. How did he know he could make it without finding himself penniless and out of supplies? Or worse, in a pinch with a serious health issue needing attention? Guess he just dove in, taking all these risks, to be able to do his dream.
I just couldn't imagine taking such huge risks, but you get more rewards if you do take them successfully.
I have heard of people taking RTW trips being flat broke and actually making it. I think Karl will make it too. As publicity increases, sponsor funds roll in and he will probably end up with a sum of money to warrant retirement. This RTW walk is his lifes' work.
Really fascinating stuff. Thanks for sharing. |
