Forget discussing religion: that's for Luddites with something I've heard referred to as a "work ethic" Rolling Eyes .

For Generation Now, and courtesy of Troll Bait on another thread I give you the:

Belief-O-Matic -- A personality quiz about your religious and spiritual beliefs. Warning: Belief-O-Matic assumes no legal liability for the ultimate fate of your soul.

And here are my results with a big shout-out WTF?

Quote:
Your Results:

The top score on the list below represents the faith that Belief-O-Matic, in its less than infinite wisdom, thinks most closely matches your beliefs. However, even a score of 100% does not mean that your views are all shared by this faith, or vice versa.

Belief-O-Matic then lists another 26 faiths in order of how much they have in common with your professed beliefs. The higher a faith appears on this list, the more closely it aligns with your thinking.

How did the Belief-O-Matic do? Discuss your results on our message boards.

1. Unitarian Universalism (100%)
2. Liberal Quakers (99%)
3. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (89%)
4. Theravada Buddhism (88%)
5. Taoism (82%)
6. Secular Humanism (81%)
7. Mahayana Buddhism (81%)
8. Neo-Pagan (72%)

23. Seventh Day Adventist (30%)
24. Orthodox Judaism (17%)
25. Eastern Orthodox (15%)
26. Islam (15%)

I took that quiz several years ago... perhaps around 2002. I scored Unitarian Universalist then and I'd imagine I'd do so again, should I re-take it.

However, through that quiz I did learn that I had close similarity to those wacky Quakers. Smile

Edit:

Contemporary Issues
The Unitarian Universalist Association's stance is to protect the personal right to choose abortion. Other contemporary views include working for equality for homosexuals, gender equality, a secular approach to divorce and remarriage, working to end poverty, promoting peace and nonviolence, and environmental protection.

Now what?? Set up a cult to rival 5 Eagle's Church of Intolerance??

I should rush out and buy some moon crystals to better channel my spirit, which happens to be that of an incontinent manatee. May Anubis guide me to the best crystal (meth) dealer in town.

Thus far, if there's one thing that could possibly bring us together, it appears to be a shared incompatibility with Roman Catholicism (whatever that may suggest).

Secular humanists have about as much appeal as logical positivists... somewhere just shy of a rotting banana.

I haven't seen obvious examples of secular humanism expressed by Satori. But then perhaps I just missed the trappings of materialism in comments...

Namaste.

I would call myself a liberal Christian. But the program crashed when I tried to get the result displayed. Maybe it knows something I don't!

That test isn't fair. It's asking for your assumptions, and I'm not going to assume anything. Questions of God and the nature of the universe are too important to answer with assumption or faith.

You make assumptions nearly every minute of your life. Without it you couldn't have intelligence. Assumptions and generalizations form the foundation of intelligence.

The quiz asks for models, memes, opinions, beliefs, principles, etc.

No one said you had to base your answers on faith.

Namaste.

Well I'm not going to assume that the Big Bang and evolution are not controlled by God. There are no answers that accurately reflect my assumptions.

Perhaps you need glasses... or to set up a text reading suite.

Every question includes a none of the above option.

Blimey.

Namaste.

I can't select none of the above. I want a "two of the above."

...Well I did it using none of the above and ended up with 100% secular humanist.

So it can be assumed that you are a soulless bastard.

A secular humanist doesn't have to be soulless. I have a lot of love in my heart. If I "believe" in anything, it's humanity, for which I have a lot of concern and deep feeling. How can you describe this as soulless?
