A couple of days ago there was an ad (OK, the ad is still there, but I saw it a couple of days ago) and it was so pathetically written that I just had to respond because I knew almost no one else would.

It's a recruiter ad, which I avoid like the plague, but I felt so sorry for the company that entered it. First of all, it was just Konglish from start to finish. Then it said nothing at all about the location of the job...just something about a good place surrounded by mountains. Ummm, where in Korea is a place NOT surrounded by mountains and countryside? The whole thing reminded me of those old instruction sheets that came with the swing set your folks bought you that was produced in Japan in the early 60's. Enough Japlish to give you whiplash when you read it. Well, this one was written by a reject from that job.

IF I understood the ad, and that is a maybe, the job could be on the outskirts of Pyongyang for all I know from the info provided. Anyway, I did send in an application because I felt sorry for the company. I'm sure, only me and an assortment of derelict waygookins trapped for yet another summer in Mom and Dad's basement would respond.

AND I got a reply today!!!!!! How many times do people my age get a reply from a recruiter? Let me tell you...even the recruiter who was posting here for a couple of months wouldn't stoop to replying to my PM.

At this rate, maybe I won't be eating slugs out of the rice paddies next month. Wahoo!
