With the North acting like a bunch of douchebags, I'm wondering what effect this will have on the Won. I've read on msn.ca news that the share prices in Japan and South Korea had dropped as a result of the missile testing. For those who are keen on money matters, would it be a good idea to change my Korean money into American or Canadian currency?

These things are transitory, wouldn't you say? Keep your money where it is and look to the long term.

Unless you are interested in speculating, all that buy low and sell high stuff - but in this case you are really looking to sell low and buy high again later ...am I wrong?

Unfortunately, I don't have that option. I'm going home for good in 6 weeks, so if the won sinks, I may lose a lot of money. One option I do have is to change my won into Canadian currency here and carry it into Canada. I believe I can carry under $10,000 tax/customs free. But the article Ya-ta Boy posted puts me a little at ease. However, as a result of this incident, I'm definately going to keep a close eye on the currency rates.
