I am cheering for the Italian team and have been since the beginning. But I was surprised with the way Germany went down against Italy. I will definitely be watching the game against France. No matter who wins, I will be happy to be watching my favorite sport to watch. I still hope Italy wins in the end!

I'm not on a rampage (really). I'm just bored, and I just hate, hate, hate the world cup (and sports, in general). Someone's got to keep the board running like a finely tuned machine. It's a hard job, but someone's got to do it Mr. Green

Italy wins the world cup after all. I think I will get myself some Cuban cigars from Seoul next week and celebrate. I will say that I am glad that Zidane didn't get the red card earlier, because that would have made the victory seem very hollow, and I happen to like Zidane a lot and respect his abilities and he has class. The Italians were saved by a magnificent goal-keeper, a powerful defense, and some decent strikers. In the second half, the French strikers were more potent than the Italian side. The Italian side looked they wanted to play the defensive style i.e. to their strength. The French played to their and in the end the penalties decided the match unsurprisingly with that kind of game.

I just think its sad when after a good game like that, and some marvellous footwork displays...it comes down to the kicker and the goal keep.

What a shame Zidane ended his World Cup like that. wonder if we will ever find out what the Italian said!

Zidane ended his career as the best player of the World Cup, carrying France into second place in this World Cup and in first in 1998, and they almost won this World Cup. There is speculation that Zidane was very tired and frustrated at that point of the game and that Italian player said very insulting that may have been an insult to Zidane's family and when you are that tired as the star of your team, you might blow a fuse. I believe that same Italian player got a red card during the match against Australia.
