Just wondering if anyone has ever done a novel study during Winter/Summer vacation class. I am planning on reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and then we will watch the movie when we are finished. (Reading class for mostly 2nd grade middle schoolers)

For my other class I thought we could do a short play: write, direct, and perform it ourselves. I wanted to do something different than the standard conversation classes. Honestly, I am so tired of conversation classes. (conversation class for mostly 2nd grade middle schoolers)

We have a total of 12 classes and each class is 2.25 hours in length. Any suggestions/opinions would be helpful.
