I showed up today ready for a trip to the East sea tomorrow and Sunday with all of my school's teachers, and find out it has been put off until the Thursday and Friday of my only week of vacation this summer. I guess they didn't really think about it but while I really wanted to go, I don't think I can go now. I hope it doesn't ruin any relationships.

Just to make sure, I LOVE my school. All the teachers are great, the students are wonderful, I have a beautiful, extremely well equipped airconditioned room, etc etc. Also, I get 5 weeks of vacation in the winter, a free round trip ticket home for Christmas, and a 200000 won pay raise cause I am resigning. So I actually feel bad I can't go, but I have only the one week and want to probably go somewhere.

By the way, for public school teachers, while I am sure most of you know, we get a good amount of time off this Chuseok Wink

Yeah, if everything else is going well it's a good idea to put up with inconveniences like that. Our camp-out this week got cancelled because of the whether - it will be interesting to see when they re-schedule it. Probably while I'm in Canada...

How long is the break at Chuseok?
Do you mean that the Mon and Weds are holidays too, (or is that mere wishful thinking on my part?)
If so, is it a DEFINITE public school thing in EACH province, or up to each individual school/province?
