I was wondering where one can find Yerba Mate and the bombilla. Also, I would like to know about finding Rooibos tea (a South African) tea. If anyone knows of a place in Seoul, let me know. |

Not sure about yerba mate, but rooibos can be found. Check out HealGreen in Apgujeong or Jeongja-dong (Bundang). Orga might have it: there's one sort of near the Seoul National University of Education station and another quite close to Imae in Bundang. There are also a couple of online retail options that might ship them; PM me if you need more info. |

My local grocery store has yerba mate in the organic section. Rooibos is in the tea section.
I know you can get rooibos at Linkos in COEX mall.
Just check out any large supermarket, like those in 2001 outlet, kim's club, emart etc. You shouldn't have much problem. |

I saw Rooibos at Costco last time I was there. What is it exactly? |

I bought some of that yerba mate stuff in E-Mart in their organic section. But its like 10,000 won for 20 tea bags and its not loose.
I think some of my South African friends mentioned that south african tea and that they had bought it in.. hmm.. Carrefour i think. |

Rooibos is a tea pronounced Roy-boss and is a South African tea that is supposed to have lots of anti-oxidants and some South Africans find it to be a calming tea. I think it is calming. It is sometimes called "Bush tea". It has this reddish colour to it. You should try it. I don't live in Seoul, so I am not sure exactly where to find the tea. I live in Cheonan. I guess I might try to wander around the city and look. Would Itaewon have the stuff? As far as Yerba, I want the loose stuff and if possible it would be good to find a bombilla. I have tried Yerba Mate after having it go through a coffee maker. I know that might be sacriligious. The Seoul National place you mentioned sounds good. I don't go to Bundang, but I know a girl who lives there. I suppose I could ask her about that, but I prefer to pick the stuff up myself. Can someone point where those places are in Seoul where one can get the stuff by saying what line and from where to go from the said line. I think that would make it easier for someone who is rather new to Korea. |

You can find Lipton brand Rooibos tea everywhere in Korea (E-Mart, Carrefour, HomePlus, Costco, etc.). They're bit pricey because they have special teabags (they're triangular and the water flows through them more easily) and they're organic (I think).
I've seen Yerba Mate at Wall-Mart, but that was a while ago, so I don't know if they still sell it. And in any case, Wall-Mart is leaving Korea. |

There are lots of places to order yerba online. I've never seen it in a grocery store, and it sounds like everyone is saying they've only seen the tea bags. I ordered about 5 kilos last winter, along with 2 bombillas (get the spring ones) and 2 mates. There are hundreds of sites that sell mate, and some are off the wall for expense. This one http://www.yerbamateteagourd.com/ seemed to be priced the best overall at the time, had no qualms about shipping internationally (I think I chose global express and it was here in less than a week), and had the selection I wanted (Argentine).
My last boss grew up in Paraguay, and only gets mate when his parents come to visit. So he hasn't been able to find any here. |

I hope I won't have to order it and find it here. But if I have to, I will make an order in a couple of months. I will check out that site. |
