The shield shot at 6:48 is unreal. That guy got his clock cleaned.

Well, there's really nothing to say about brutality like that. I am sure different clips would show some horrific behavior on the part of the protestors, but it still can't excuse mandated violence on that level.

An amazing video. It isn't hard to see where both groups learn their methods. Everyone in this country thinks they're masters of weapons. That guy who got clocked by the shield thought he was being brave, protecting the other guy, or standing up for him, with all his pride. Just something he's seen in a movie, and those police officers I'm sure thought this would just be another chance for them to live their fantasies of being in a big gang fight or warriors of days gone by.

As a big fan of the Park Chung-hee/Chun Doo-hwn era of strong love, that clip almost brought a little tear to my eyes. I hate protestors of any sort.

Korean police are the scum of the Earth. Lazy, good-for-nothing mama's boys on a power trip.

I have known alot of cops in my life from many different city forces, the RCMP, and American State Troopers. That statement describes a large percentage of them.

You're probably just as likely to see them eating ice-cream at a convenience store in the early hours as you are to see them kicking heads.

They're a marginalised part of society.Who wants to know a riot cop?

Korean protesters do conceive of protests largely as confrontations though. But irrespective of that, cops will keep whacking away until they think any "threat' has been neutralised,or until someone pulls them away.

I like how they try to reach out and swallow the protesters inside their stomach of shields where the beatings can begin. Like a blob.

Well said, most of it is unwarranted, but you have to put it in perspective with the behaviour of mobs at Korean protests. Did anyone see the Farmers' Federation guys down in HongKong at the WTO meeting? They just thought they could go there and carry on like monkeys as they do here. And they got the crap kicked out of them. Good.
