Hey all, I'm just wondering if anyone could shed a little light on what type of a time frame I'm looking at from getting my passport to actually getting on the plane to come to Korea. I've sent the app. for the passport, (never really had a reason to get one before), and I need a bit of a time frame as to how long it takes to get a job/get out of Canada. I kind of need to know when to give notice to my landlord etc. I'm guessing with the abundance of positions that its relatively easy to land a job?? Am I wrong in thinking that once I get my passport I should only be about a month from getting over there? How long is the application process??? |

I'm guessing Canada has less stringent passport regulations than Europe or assmerica. Call up your local passport office and ask how long it takes. The visa procedure requires copies of your passport, so you will have to wait until you have one before it can be processed. Once you have it, you could be on your way within 2 weeks. You might be able to pull it off by the end of August. But it might be tight. Make sure you have some friends or family who can put you up for a little while if there is a delay. |

Passport apparently takes 3 weeks for the cheap version, (still $100), 1-2 weeks for the higher priced version. |

Have a look at the government website http://www.ppt.gc.ca/ . If you submit your application in person to one of the offices, it apparently only takes ten days. If you mail the application in, it takes a lot longer. |
