Has anyone been to this new casino in COEX. Any opinions on it?

I don't really like that they have these casino's and yet disallow local Koreans to go to them.

Ah, you must mean "Seven Luck". Who names these places? Confused

I was there once about 3pm. Part of a tour... yeah, that's it.

The fact they let everyone smoke in there seems to have already dingy-fied the place. Tight security.

It was full of Koreans. You know, the rich ones with multiple passports so that they can avoid military service. That and some Chinese and Japanese.

I was the only non-asian face there.

What's the minimum bets there? Is it in USD or won?

Don't know. Didn't bet anything.

I saw slot machines that used coins, so that's a low minimum.

I think there were "High roller" tables, with 100 minimum, and maybe a 5 min table? Didn't take serious mental notes.

I went there about two weeks ago and it was ok. It wasn't until about 9 pm that it really got busy. The min. bet for blackjack is 10,000W. There are no 5,000 tables. There were more people playing tables than there were playing slots. There were a few other white people, but the OP is right; it's mostly Asians. The dealers know enough English to get by. The security is pretty tight to get in the door, but other than that, it's no different than any other Casino.

And yes, they let you smoke everywhere and that really got to me by the end of the night. There were a few considerate smokers who actually waited until the end of a shoe and got up to have a cigarette.

Also remember that if you need to take the bus or subway, you better leave by 11:30 as they finish running soon after that. I learned the hard way and had to take a taxi back to Bundang. (27,000 Won later). I wouldn't have cared so much if I had won, but I didn't.
