I'm coming to Korea and I'm wondering if its worth bringing my board, or should I just buy one there. How much do they cost on average? Anyone have one for sale?

From what i've seen it's pretty much the same. I've scene boards to up as 300 or more as the brand goes. bindings are about 100 plus and boots are about the same |

Is it too much to ask for board specific stores? Is there a good place to go fo sporting gear? I'm also interested in finding climbing gear... my harness has too many falls to be used anymore.

When are you coming? Things are generally a little more expensive here than in other places (it's that 20% import duty) but if you're coming right NOW, leave your stuff at home and take advantage of their crazy summer sales. Nonhyun-rho (that's a street name) runs straight through 3 subway stations (Yeoksam through Hakdong to Apgujeong) and it has a dozen ski/snowboard (also inline skate/wakeboard etc) shops along it.
As far as I can tell, western shops just put away their stock until the next winter, but here you can buy stuff for less than half price during the summer.
Hope this helps |
