Name, subway stop, how to get there, and brief description of the equipment, etc.. I think this could be helpful, as I can't seem to find one near me... and I'm sure others are in the same boat. |

I used to go to a disctrict community center near Sookmyung Women's University Subway stop (line-4)
I am not very sure about the exit number, but the exit is across the street from YongSan Internet Plaza. Go out that exit and walk straight (a good reference point is that there is a beauty salon as you walk out of the exit)
anway, as I said, go straight, you will see the walls of the military base across the street. Go for about 3 minutes and you will see a government building on your left, it is the Huam-dong district community center. On the 6th floor is the gym (actually it is a health center with a gym (free-weights and machine, sauna and swimming pool) I only used the gym- which was about 50,000 for a monthly membership, but you can get a 15% discount if you get a 3-month membership there.
I used it because it was so close to my work at the time, and I was able to go there during my long breaks... |

Don't expect a wealth of replies here. Judging by appearance the most exercise many ESL Teachers get is the lifting of bottle / glass to mouth on Friday and Saturday nights...
My gym...
Jamaica Fitness
They have two branches... one is located in Munjeong, and the other is located in Sinchon (the one near Hongik)... honestly it's a little over priced at 190,000W cash for 3 months and there's not much English going around but the machines are ample and I get a good work out... good personal training and progression plan too... I used to spend 5 days a week there at 1.5 - 2 hours a time, but since I had to undertake a few more extra curricular activities and squeeze a GF into the equation, its slimmed to 3...
I enjoy it though... good to know I'm keeping healthy and improving my physical definition at the same time... |

My first gym was Yes Gym in Cheongdam. It was near Gangnam-Gu station, although I don't remember what exit. You'll be going up a hill, and it's down a bit from a Starbucks on the second floor of a building with a Western Ice Bar on the first floor. A Baskin Robbins is across the street.
After that I went to California WOW in Apgujeong. It's beside a big ugly canary yellow building, and next door to that awful NB nightclub.
Then it was California WOW in Myeong-dong. Take exit six turn left, then take a left at the Cafe Pascutti. It's a few steps on your right.
Now I'm at Pop's Italia Gym in Hongje-dong. Exit Hongje station (not sure what exit) and walk past a Dunkin Donuts. The next building is ten floors and has a Shinhan bank on the first floor. It's on the eighth floor. |

spozone at seolleung station
not the best, but best out of the others in the area i saw
don't know the closest exit, but if you go out exit 2, then go backwards to the corner (opposite way of burger king), then hang a right you'll be on the right track.
go straight 3 blocks or so. it's on the right in the basement of the building just past the big ktf building.
shoddy directions, but if you get there you'll find decent machines, and a friendly atmosphere with trainers who can speak english well.
about 60,000 a month. ask for the 3 + 1 special.

Bucheon City- Songnae Stn. RU Fitness (walk outside of the stn and the gym is in the TOONA mall building across the street).
Plenty of machines (cardio and weight), and free weights with bars that aren't mangled!! woo!

Sounds like you're feeling listless. This is common for assholes like you. |

180,000 for 6 months. Hard to beat the price. I only wish I could get in more often. |

New in Seoul so excuse the poor geography skills
Have checked out two places near where I live- but could smell the jocks from rocky one.
More importantly they only had treadmills and bikes for cardio work.
Sauna is critical and would like a rowing machine, cross-trainer as well.
Am willing to travel for a decent place and imagine i will have to.
Appreciate any help...
Also a good place to jog at the weekend )not a track) would be good? |
