Has anyone done the full climb? I am aware that we can start at a 5th station, but I am really more interested in doing the full 19km. I have heard conflicting reports as to just how difficult this is.
I am also curious about the times. When did you start your hike? Did you stay in a hut? How long did it take and was it worth it to start at the bottom.
Any input would be greatly appreciated. |

Make sure you don't go anytime around Obon, summer vacation in Japan. You will be climbing alright, over the mountains of people. I don't know when it is this summer, but it is usually in August for one week. |

Thanks, I've heard of that madness. We'll be heading up in a few weeks. Should still be crowded, but not as bad as it will get. |
