Now that this World Cup crap is over, it's good to note that real football is right around the corner.

Surprise teams: Cardinals and Saints

Superbowl winner: Patriots.

Tom Brady will one day go down as the best quarterback in NFL history.

I can't believe I agree with most of an Otis' post. I'm a little surprised though that you wouldn't choose your Panthers to win it all. I don't know that the Pats have done enough to improve from last year. I'm losing more faith in Dillon as the years go by. The Panthers on the other hand - I like their chances.

Panthers are good, but I think the Cowboys might have what it takes. Adding T.O. made them a force to be reckoned with. However they might have problems with that offensive line. They don't have the most versatile quarterback and he had a ton of sacks last season. Coach Parcells better be chewing them out and shaping them up or else T.O. will be to no avail. I would like to see the Panthers beat them out though.

Although I enjoy the NFL, Real football is college football. College Football is where the game is at its best. My money is on Notre Dame to win it all. USC got a push and barely got by them last year. This year is their year.

I can't wait for Steve Spurrier to turn South Carolina in a powerhouse. Steve Spurrier is cocky and arrogant, but he is your best friend when he is coaching your team. Smile

Why is cocky censored?

Absolutely. The Rose Bowl game between Texas and USC had to be 1 of the greatest football games ever played anywhere. I'm going back to Canada this weekend and the 1st thing to do is buy a slingbox so I can watch my beloved UW Huskies when I get back here. They are due for another good year but I don't know if they have the horses.

NFL wise I'm hoping the Seahawks can get it done this year. They were great all last year and then the Steelers destroyed them in the SuperBowl.

If the Panthers can get any type of running game going on like they did late last seasons (before Foster got injured again) then they're going to be pretty rocking awesome

The Colts won't have another near-perfect season, but don't be surprised to see them in the Bowl this year. I have a feeling that the OC will be taking back a lot of the control from Manning.

Panthers have just as much, if not more talent than anyone, but it will be tough for them to make the Super Bowl. They play in one of the toughest divisions, and even if they win it, they'll likely only get the 3rd seed--(Seahawks and Bears cause of terrible divisions). I think the Seahawks will rep the NFC, and probably the Patriots the AFC.
Surprise teams: Ravens, Dolphins, Cardinals

glad to see some of you have also drank the cardinals kool-aid this year as well...with the additions of Edge and tweaking and upgrading their O-line, i think this is the year the Cards break out (but then again, i thought last year was their year too). denny green is in his 3rd season, so by know he has 3 drafts under his belt and 2 seasons of top 10 defenses....this should be the year.

Notice the difference between this and a football (soccer) thread. No emasculated w@nkers feeling the need to butt in and hype their particular code. Then again, you guys already have a handicap inasmuch as you're all in the company of that ugly old drunken troll, Otis.

Why do people predict a surprise team?
If you predict it, it won't be a surprise!!!
Yep now the world cup is over, the real football is over, where men wear tights and slap each other on their butts yet still waer helmets cos they think it makes them look hard.
Just give up and play rugby, it's much more manly.

It's a sport -- and a damn good one -- but for fuck's sake, why couldn't they come up with a name for it other than one the rest of the world is using to describe something else?
