This guy was a legend.
He helped to prove that the Earth is shaped like an orange and not like a lemon.
His findings marked the change from Cartesian to Newtonian methodology in science; theory based on experiment rather than experiment to prove theory.
He wins first prize in the 'Most French Name Ever' competition. |
