Korea. I just realized that on OCN, Super action, etc. they sure DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM showing foreign movies that contain nudity at any time of the day. However, when it comes to Korean nudity, forget it. It's no where to be found unless you subscribe to the adulty stuffy. My wife and I had an interesting conversation about this. Also, have you noticed that they blurr out the male and female genitalia but not the woman's breasts? What's your take? Shocked

My take: Complete disinterest.

Regarding Korean shows I like to play a game where I go through the channels and see how long before someone whines. I know it doesn't relate exactly to the op but it does have to do with KTV. Seriously play this game with a Korean around they love it trust me. All you need is a stopwatch or other timing device.

Naw, I have seen Korean nudity on at soap opera times before. To be honest too, every Korean nude scene I have seen so far has both the guy and girl nude, unlike many Western nude scenes where it is only the girl.

Agreed. Lots of nudity in Korean shows/movies. Cubanlord, bad observation.

However, they use foreign models to do the underwear ads. Have you seen how underwear is sold on the home shopping channel? If it's not on a foreign model, they just use the bust of a mannequin Very Happy

But somehow dancing in front of a store in a skimpy outfit for the store's grand opening celebration is ok. Conflicting standards regarding what's appropriate and inappropriate, methinks (ha ha ha- I know some of you HATE that expression. Twisted Evil ).

Korean models don't sell. Foreign ones do. Why, I don't know. But there is nothing sinister behind it. (Lost in Translation kind of thing). Many Western stars come here and do commercials, but make sure that these commercials can never be shown outside their countires they did it for (written right into the contracts). This goes for Japan too.

Anyways, I have seen underwear infomercials with Koreans. One would have thought they could have found "bustier" women for it though. Not that it should matter, but still...

This might be a case of censorship making it more perverse, but I've never seen a chocolate starfish on Korean TV.

Koreans model underwear but only late at night. the earlier comment about foreign models selling makes sense as then their is an air of mystique or exotica around the product.

Back in 2001 the home shopping channels used to show Korean and foreign models wearing underwear and lingerie in the late morning/early afternoon. I know; I used to watch those channels a lot.

These days? Nada.

So much for Korea being a progressive society.

It's illegal to show genitals on TV, even porn. Both Japan and Korea have very strict laws about that. Try renting a porn movie - the genitals there are blocked, too.

I'll take your word for it tzechuk Laughing Wink

As for the dancing girls at the store grand openings...it is more of a silly thing than an outrage...methinks.
