My girlfriend and my contracts are up 9-4 and are planning on traveling around Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos, maybe flying out of Bangkok. Does anyone have any recomendations? We have about 7 weeks before we plan to be back in the US. Thank you! |

What do you want to see? beaches? cities? ruins? local culture? are you a tourist or a traveler ? I can give some recs for central Thailand, Cambodia, southern Vietnam, and southern Laos, but I don't know what you're looking for.

I liked Phuket so much that I moved here . . . Great beaches - wonderful place - particularly away from the tourist zones of Patong/Karon/Kata Beach.
Give it a shot! |

Almost self-explanatory.. fly into Bangkok.. then go in a circle like everyone else Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and back to Bangkok.. or vice versa. Once you are 'in the circle'.. its fairly straight-forward. Everyone basically goes in the same way either direction.
Basically.. Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Vientianne, Louang Phrabang, (insert random Laos destination here to try to loose all the 100 of the same people you've seen the last few weeks), then go on to Hanoi (includes HaLong Bay & Highlands), down through Hue, Nha Trang, Dalat, Saigon (includes Mekong and Cuchi tunnels), then over to Phnom Pehn, Siem Riep (possibly Sinoukeville in a way to lose the last 200 people you've been seeing everywhere on your circle - same buses, same restaurants, same hostels - but 50 of those will be there too).. then back to Bangkok. |

wanted to do a little traveling wherever, and tourism around Angkor Wat. Most of what I know of the area is from friends who've taken guided treks with hill tribes and from guide books. |
