Just a quick question.
Do I have to go to the Korean embassy in London to get my E2 or can it be done by mail?
It would be a pain in the ass to get there as its hundreds of miles away!

Check our the web page for the Korean Embassy/Consulate in London... If it is like the sites in most other countries it will give you the details...

I'd check with the consulate, but I think you have to make the initial application in person and they will mail your passport back to you once they have put your visa in it.

I've done it several times. I tend to send the passport by registered mail and then pick it up in person. My parents and some friends don't live in London, but it is a nice excuse to have a day or 3 in London to pick it up.

The London Korean embassy are generally helpful and polite if you're polite. Takes 5 working days to get the visa but it has never taken me that long.

I have always sent my passport ahead of myself.

Call them first though. If you use a little Korean you will get treated very well (even by the jobsworths).

Yobosaeyo? and Yongo Haseyo? Encourage them treat you well! Nobody speak Korean in the UK except for a few Koreans, if an English bird or gent uses Korean you'll be loved!

OK, wish I didn't have to go all the way there though. Costs so much from Cornwall, if you don't know anyone who lives there!
Can't they just send it back?
