Hypothetical situation: if i accept a job and send the signed contract along with my other papers needed, then while its in the mail (or even if they just received my contract etc), I find a better job and want to take it, is it too late?
Am I able to resubmit my documents to the better job for the visa process?
Would the company i changed my mind about be angry or would they send my documents back to me?

Again, purely hypothetical.

Depends on the person...

I suppose if they didn't actually pay out airfare you may be able to get out of it.. however there are vindictive Korean employers out there that would seek to harm you and your *possible* future employment

I really can't see the school paying to send your documents back to you, or even putting any time or effort into it. You will have wasted their time, and they will just want to move on. I would expect they just trash your documents.

It is illegal to have two simultaneous contracts.

As you haven't come here, you could tell your school that you found a better job and to trash your contract and not send away for your visa. However, this could blow up in your face.

Use your own judgement.

I think it also depends on how long ago you sent your docs and if they've been forwarded on to immi yet or not. if your visa app is being processed, it might not be possible to back out and accept another position in K.

to tell the truth, I've always wondered about this and don't recall ever seeing a thread about it.

I am not sure what happened with me, but I signed a contract and got out of it.

I got a job with a nameless Hogwan, and after I signed the contract and sent it off I then asked the Dave's ESL crowd what they thought of that school. I got three private messages from people telling me not to do it. One person said that they would have a hard time sleeping if they knew I would make the same mistake that they made.

As a result, when the school administrator called me, I lied and told them my father had recently had a stroke and that I needed to care for him. They never called me back after that.

Soon after that I got a job with a PS and I am very, very happy. I am generally against lying, but if it gets you out of a big jam it may be worth it.

Thanks guys. LIke i said it was hypothetical. I didnt do it and im not gonna do it. I was offered a job in seoul and turned it down, im holding out for one in Busan. Sajik maybe. anyone know about the area?

You wouldn't be in a good position if you had sent them your documents. Then you'd be pretty much SOL.

I've thought about this scenario in that I was offered simultaneous jobs. I took the one I thought best. After re-reading the contract I realized that no fridge was offered (what was up with that?). Only excuse was that we had a family emergency in that I had to help with my Dad who is failing (not an excuse at all). That being said, I emailed my little "fridge concern" to the recruiter and was told that indeed I had fridge, fully furnished kitchen with a rice cooker (that's kind of cool) and tons of pots, pans, utensils ad nauseum. Then they made it nice in that I have a loft studio of sorts. So we'll see what happens.

I'm in a similar (and not hypothetical) situation. I recently signed a contract with an LCI Kids Club only to read later after I thought I did adequate research that this is a horrible school to work for -- ridiculous overtime, video cameras in every classroom, shifty money dealings, etc. etc.

I've signed the contract and sent it in, but have not yet sent in any of my visa documents, except they do have a copy of my passports information page.

Should I just suck it up and resign myself to a miserable year, or can I say 'nevermind' to this school and find a job at another quickly. I just don't want to be blacklisted or flagged at immigration...

Any advice?

Thanks ontheway. There is actually only about 20 days until I am supposed to begin (the orientation at least). If I do send the letter, will I in any way be prevented from finding another job or getting a visa?
