Well, i was originally going to stay in a hostel but due to last minute change of plans i will need to be going to my teaching position basically the next day after i arrive in Incheon airport.

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a hotel/motel in the following areas:

Dongdaemun
Namsan
Myeong Dong
Itaewon

Most importantly is, i will be arriving on Thursday July 20 at about 5-6 PM. I will need to get into my camp at about 8PM on Friday July 21

Most hotels i know have a check out time of about 12PM or so. So from about 12PM to 8PM or so i was hoping to do some sight seeing, but i dont want to be lugging my luggage around

So, i was wondering whether anyone can recommend a hotel that has a very late check out time, or has some sort of service where i would be allowed to leave my luggage (in a safe place of course) up until i actually leave seoul.

Any help/insight greatly appreciated!

If you stay at a hotel you can keep your luggage in a marked section of the lobby well past your checkout time. I would only do this with a hotel though and not a motel.

Budget would be about 150CDN? Which i think is about 120-130000 WON

Actually i was looking into the "Hamilton" hotel. Anyone heard of this particular place? Its supposedly located in central Itaewon.

Its smack in the middle of Itaewon, but noisy as hell. Its usually fillled with drunk GIs, frat boys, or other noisy people that i don't have a preset category for. I mean if you can sleep through anything, then don't worry about it, but just be prepared.

For that budget you can get into any of the 4 star places. They are very accomodating about storing your luggage on checkout day until your late departure time and many have late departures (up to 6pm) if you let them know in advance.

The Hamilton (as was mentioned earlier) is smack in the middle of Itaewan and it is usually noisy and full of GIs. It is also an older hotel and it is showing it's age.

There are other nicer hotels in Itaewon area but they are a 5 minute walk back to the nightlife in Itaewan.

Closer to Korean stuff you can look at the Holiday Inns (rates from 100k per night - mid August)

1. 3-1343 JONGAM-DONG, SEONGBUK-KU SEOUL, 136-090
or
2. 169-1, DOHWA-DONG, MAPO-GU SEOUL, 121-040
http://www.seoulhotels.holiday-inn.com/

You can also look at the Koreana, Sofitel Ambassador, Lexington, Sejong, Olympic Parktel, Ramada, and the President to name a few more.

They are all 4 star or better and prices around 90-120k won per night. They all have websites and are searchable on-line.

Room Rates (in won, and i just called as of July 14) are all about 190000+. I called in to ask as well as checked online. Unless im missing something these places are out of my budget although very nice looking.

Lexington: http://www.thelexington.co.kr/eng/accommodate/standard_tw.htm

Sejong: http://english.sejong.co.kr/

though the holiday inn looks the most affordable. Thanks for the advice!

Forget about the Holiday Inn - it's a G*D awful place.

You want Sofitel Ambassador for that money.

Here's a link to a website with great rates (100 USD):

It's a lovely hotel and actually amazingly cheap.
