I know I post a lot about my kids. I should start showing pictures. If you don't like it, well you know what you can do. Anyways...

Two girls are just going about my room orally reading some of the English books. I am just surfing, but they are having a blast and sometimes I yell out the correct pronunciation if needed.

Also, 4th period today, the kids all had to clean the outside track. The looks on their faces when a student came in and said English class was cancelled made me feel horrid I was somewhat happy (not that it is a bad class, actually one of my best) that it was cancelled (it is Friday afterall). They kept crying out, "I want to go to English class" on the field and a couple attached themselves to me and kept saying, "Let's play an English game... Let's study English!" Smile

I love them little buggers.

I teach in 4 different public schools so the kids don't see enough of me to get tired of me I think and every time I go to the different schools the kids make a fuss. they are really good in class too! I smile most of the day...cant be that bad can it...

I love the kids who suddenly let you see things in a new way. I was showing the kids a picture of a table with a bowl of apples on it, which was in front of a refrigerator. "Where's the table?" I asked one bright lad, looking for , "It's in front of the refrigerator": what I got was, "It's under the bowl of apples."
Gotta love it.

A classic. Thanks for sharing that.

Reminds me of a student who was always so casual about everything, always off task. One day I decided to let them play board games (small class). He still was so unfazed, not participating.

I asked him. "Hey, why aren't you playing.?" He said, " Why? Bored games....." Gotta love him...

Heartwarming antecdotes.

Personally, i've learned to be wary of ANY sentimental attachment to students ... PERIOD Wink

I love my kids too. The other day they were all busily working on drawing an english comic story. They usually ask me spelling questions and/or grammar questions, but today there was nothing. So I go through the list of students. "Cathy, do you have a question?"

"no"

"Brian do you have a question?"

"nope!"

"Juliet do you have a question?"

"no thanks"

Then Brian looks over at me with a big grin and says, "Teacher, are you boring?" "bored." "bored?" "yes." And he busts up laughing.

I love that little guy.

There may be some wisdom in this. I'm so pissed off at my school district right now but feel that I could never leave my students. Perhaps I shouldn't let them keep me over a barrel like that.

One of them just got a new pencil supply box (you know, case, eraser, sharpener, etc etc). He gave me a pencil cover from it. I have no use for it but he was insistent on giving it to me. I love them.
