I have been using Bearshare to download music and movies etc. I have been using it for the last few years and its been fine. But it's changed.

I am looking for a new file sharing programme.

What's the best? Any recommendations?

For just P2P stuff I use Shareaza. It connects to a bunch of the different networks and works pretty well. Doesn't have any adware etc. in it.

You should look into using a bittorrent program for new movies and tv shows etc. Much much faster.

I use shareaza when I want to find something older or obscure, and a bittorrent program for new stuff.

i second the recommendation for Shareaza. it was my first p2p program, and i like that it does both p2p and torrents. that was a big draw for me. it also might be the easiest way to make the transition to torrents. i don't use it anymore, as i hadn't used the p2p network in ages, and i discovered that i liked utorrent much better anyway. the only problems with shareaza are that: 1. it saves your torrents as temp files first, so you have to have twice the space of whatever you're downloading before you can download it, and 2. it is slowly being denied access to a lot of different public and private trackers for some reason or another. pissed me off a couple times. anyway, to sum up, shareaza is good. Cool
