I'm in the process of hunting down jobs, and I was told that there are two, one in Anyang and the other in Gwacheon.

I did a quick search of both places, but there wasnt much online. If anyone knows anything about either of these places I'd like to hear it.

I taught in Korea about 18 months ago, so I know the basics about life in country, I just want to know about these two places. What do they have for shopping, food etc.

thanks

Anyang is a suburb of Seoul which is directly south of it. The location is not bad and it's a decent sized city with an interesting nightlife.

Is Gwacheon really a city? It looks more like a neighbourhood that has been absorbed by Seoul.

Both locations are okay.

I've been living in Anyang for about two weeks now. It's really green, which is nice, and the air is supposedly better than in Seoul (I think it's fine here). There's even a mountain.

The street with all the hagwons on it is really modern and bright with a lot of cheap eats and there's a Walmart (although they're switching to Asian ownership) and other big Korean grocery stores. For me the only bad thing is living so far from Seoul (it takes about an hour to get downtown), but at least I've been told there's a bus that leaves last at 2:30am from Seoul Station.

Anyang is a great place to live. Good nightlife, clean air, plenty of green, close to Seoul.

I lived inteh area for about 3 years.

Anayng is a city- it has all the things you need in it. Including an ex-pat community.

Gwachon is more of a government community. Nice green areas but not a whole lot else.
