Hello, I'm looking for information about Guri, the town east of Seoul. I've spent about two hours there, but I'd like some impressions from people who live and work there. (I did a search here but the results were skewed by people with "Guri" in their screen name. ) Thanks. |

| Seems like a good area to me. I'm not there but spent some time there before. Basically it is still Seoul, 20 minutes or so on bus. |

Why would you want to live/work there? Actually the area is nice but you won't get much of a chance during the week to go into Seoul. I hiked a mountain in the area a few times which is near Hanam. Mt.Geomdansan is a good mountain to hike. Check out the link.
Hanam is 20-30 minute bus ride from the north eastern end of subway line # 5.
Namyangju -si, Guri-si and Hanam-si are in eastern seoul.

| I won't be living or working there anytime soon. I was just curious to hear what people had to say about it. I did a google search for "Guri + Korea + blog" and other permutations but found nothing. Having lived a year in Bundang, the area around 구리역 seemed similar: a growing area with new subway lines, a decent mix of older apartments and newer officetels, and a place that's both far enough away from Seoul for peace/quiet, and near enough to Seoul for convenience/recreation. |
