| I'm not 100% sure what it is these days, but it was 14 days last time my contract was up last year. |

| Look at the date on your ARC. You must leave Korea by midnight on that day or your coach will change into a pumpkin. There is a serious fine for each day you overstay the date on your ARC. However, if you visit Immigration before your expiration date, they can extend your stay (up to 30 days I've heard) with a little paperwork and a small fee (sometimes it's free). |

You have 2 choices:
1) you MUST be cleared through passport control on your way out of the country no later than midnight on the evening of Aug. 15.
2) you can take your plane ticket (with a later departure date), your ARC, and your passport to your regional immigration office. Fill in an application for a short extension (for the purpose of tourism) and they will give you a FREE extension until the departure time indicated on your ticket.
side note: NO departing plane ticket = no extension.
If you stay past midnight on the evening of the last day indicated on your ARC and have NOT obtained an extension you will be subject to being fined and/or detained.
GET THE FREE EXTENSION. |

No. It is your Alien Registration Card. ARC. Your Korean ID card - the one with your picture on it issued by the immigration office shortly after you got here. |
