Today I had a taste of home! Got a great cake from Ms. Periwinkle. It was my birthday cake and I have to say in six years in Korea this was the best cake ever. Home made! Looked simple and delicious.
A few thousand won more than a cake make in a bake shop here but she delivers in nice box with candles. There were no tomatoes or odd things. Just a great chocolate cake.
I for one recommend it highly!
Thanks Periwinkle you made my birthday cake very special!

Happy Birthday fellow Cancer signer.
Wish I could eat some of that cake. Don't think we have Ms. Periwinkle in Daejeon. Just PB, TLJ, everywhere.

Thanks for the nice birthday wishes. Yeah I wished I could share too! I did share but it sits in the fridge screaming my name. So far I have resisted temptation today and will feed to my skinny husband! And take some to my school so they can get a taste of CAKE.
Again thanks so much for the nice thoughts!

I'm glad you liked it! Happy birthday! I like that recipe- those are chocolate sour cream cake layers- one cup of strong brewed coffee in the layers, and some unsweetened choc. melted in a double boiler (among other ingedients~). Choc cream cheese frosting with more melted unsweetened chocolate ('course I had to add some sugar!)... I'd put it in your refigerator, though- it'll keep better. You can even freeze it if you have too much left over.^^ |

Periwinkle just brought me the best Peanut Butter Silk Pie I've ever had in my life. I think it's the best any kind of pie I've had in my life. Seriously guys, with the discount and delivery - can you really afford NOT to order something for your next special occassion?? (or just be like me and order for no reason at all!)
Props to Periwinkle...the girl can cook! |
