I don't think I've ever seen anything like it. Great big ticket items with lots of buyers with cash in hand met with..."We're busy signs". Cruel fates.

A few years ago it was Boeing that couldn't find its ass. I like a world where both Boeing and Airbus are doing well.

I don't.

I always find it amusing that Airbus & Boeing try to market themselves as these big powerful corporate symbols of western capitalism.

But the reality is, that most western passengers would probably be a little horrified if they knew that many of the parts used to build Airbus aircraft were actually made in China, not France, by underpaid workers.

Airbus are infact currently relocating whole aircraft assembly lines to northern China to save labor costs.

If anything though, the US sanctions against Iran, Syria, Cuba, Zimbabwe and other countries (against purchasing new Boeing aircraft) has had the result of keeping Russian-built aircraft production lines (military+commercial) in operation with new orders.

Modern planes are sourced from all over the world. But so is an iPod. Oh well. Part of it is political. If you want China to buy a lot of Airbus or Boeing planes, build parts in that country. It's a reason why Hyundai and Toyota open plants in the North America.

The whole world should stand up and thank the gods that Airbus exists.

It takes very little thought to realise that their very existence prevents monopolistic exploitation.

I read like 50% or more of Airbus parts are made in the US.

Hey, that was a low blow and uncalled for...

Scarebuses are for wimpy Frenchmen (not big strong Paul Bunyan Quebecois types) who prefer wimply little side stick controllers over a real man's yoke...

I rest my case, tabernac...

I always liked being a passenger on Airbus planes more. They always seem slightly better designed in the inside.
