I can text my brother and sister in Australia and New Zealand by entering one of those discount call codes before the number e.g (00700). I have a standard monthly plan cellphone.

My wife was on a business trip in Vietnam and she sent me a message. This time though it showed her country code and phone number. I simply replied and it worked.

I was impressed until she told me it costs about 700 won a shot (not sure on that).

On my plan (SK Telecom), using the prefix enables the message to be sent and they cost me 150won each. I saw an advert in the Korean Times one day explaining it.

They might be the same

The codes are just the codes you use to get cheaper calls, like 00700 001 etc, some might be more expensive with certain carriers though.

700 won is a rip off.
