I'm just curious...has anyone noticed how many twins there are here? I am in a relatively small middle school in the country and there are two sets of twins and a set of triplets. Is this common everywhere in korea? |

Twins can be common. When I taught here there were 4 sets of twins in my classes (I had about 800 students I saw a week). It really confused me because I thought I was teaching the same class twice in the same week after mistaking a couple of the twins for their siblings. |

I see quite a lot of twins when I am out and about too. There are twin girls at my school.

in one of my classes now, i have two sets of twins. one set looks different enough from each other to be able to tell the difference. the other set are identical, but one is somehow bigger than the other, and that's how i'm able to tell the difference between them. |

I've read that per 100 births, there are 3 sets of twins (or other multiples), so there's a 3% chance of having twins or other multiples. Identical twins occur at an even rate of 1 in every 256 (?) births. ^^ I'd really love to have twins.... |

It's mostly genetics I believe. If your family trees have no history of twins, then I don't think there is any chance, or a very, very slim chance of having twins. Now on the other hand, the chances increase dramatically if your family does have a history of twins. To illustrate this point, my grandfather had a twin brother. Now although his sons were not twins, two of his sons had sets of identical twins. I am from one of those sets, and my cousins are the other. Now will I have twins? History suggests not (unless perhaps my future wife is a twin or has many twins in her family), but history also tells me that the chance of my future sons/daughters having twins is much higher. So there is something to consider. |

There are a set of about 3 year old quadruplets on my block, and they always seem to be outside walking with their mom. Freakiest thing to see, paticuarly their identical wardrobe. |

There must be something wrong with me - or where I live. There aren't loads (if any) twins walking around here. |

Could it be because of fertility drugs and IVF, that there is an actual increase in the number of twins? |

That's what I've thought. I've noticed an awful lot of very young twins (preschool and younger) in my neighborhood. |

I have 2 sets of twins in the Hagwon that I am working at . One set is identical and its an absolute shite trying to tell them apart, its near impossible if they are wearing the 태관 도 uniform.
I am always mixing their names up.
The other set are not identical and its easy to tell them apart.
I see 200 kids a week at the hagwon |

I taught twin girls a few years ago. They were 13 years old and two of the best students I've ever had. Not only that, but the whole class was my best class EVER and that was in 2000. |
