|
|
What's going on with all the bootlegged DVD shops closing down early around 7:00 pm on the weekends??..
These guys used to be in full operation in Yongsan Electronics market and Gangnam as well. Now, they all close down and pack up their crap by 8:00
these days..
Does anyone know the reason for this?? They used to be open all night. The only guys in full operation at the moment are the boys in Gangbyon station technomart..
....Word of advice, don't buy any "Superman," "X-men," "MI 3," or "Poseidon"
DVD copies. They are all bad; digital cams hand held in theater.

why buy pirated DVDs when you can download them? If I like a movie enough I buy the original. |

First you have to download it, then burn it if you want to play it on a dvd player. DVDs are also handy to trade with people or bring to a friends house. No I don't know about Korea, but when I was living in china, for less than a buck each, it was definitely worth it. Heck, just finding it through bittorrent was worth more than the buck. Plus, you can browse. Everybody loves to browse |

Look, you are fighting a lost battle. The pure convenience of going into a store and for less than a buck getting a movie. You can browse and take home 20 at a time. Or buy all 7 seasons of a series in less than a minute. Then, you also have them on hard copy, no problems with storage space, or rewritting it when you want it, or potentially losing it and have to download it again. Also, it's just as easy to rip it as download it if you want it on your computer, so they are the same there. Plus, you get DVD title menus without having to make them yourself (I know, it only takes a minute). The seasons are all burnt quite well onto discs in order already. Need I go on. The convenience factor makes buying them much more, shall I say, convenient
Finally, there is the subtitle issue. They come with Korean, Chinese, Japanese, English, and a variety of Western language subtitles (or dubbings). This, for me, a language learner, by far makes it worthwhile. These are a lot harder to find on the net, and a lot more work. |

Ya, it's just easier to buy, let's say LOST Season 2 on DVD for a mere
15,000 won, than going through bittorrent and waiting 2 days for 8 gigabytes to download all 24 episodes, in turn keeping your computer on, etc...
Again; convenience...
..and NO, they are not showing Season 2 on OCN..that's season 1 repeated over again to death...like they do with anything else here including Jean Claude van Damme and Nicolas Cage movies, in succession.
