002-1-area code-phone number. 002 long distance calls are a bit cheaper than using 001.

You need an outside trunk line for an international call....
or if you are LG... 00388-1-xxx-xxx-xxxx
daycom is 002-1-xxx-xxx-xxxx
there is also 00700 - 1 - xxx-xxx-xxxx

I've always used just the 002 Dacom number for making international calls from my cell phone. Is there any advantage to using the 00388 or 00700 numbers?

It depends on who your provider is.

00388 is for LG handphones.
002 Dacom is for anyone
the others offer different rates depending on who you are with
like SK, KTF, KT landline, etc.

OK.. I just searched Daecom's rates... (calls to the states)

002 charges 4.8 (normal) per second, which means 288 won per minute; and 4.3 won per second = 258 won/min.

00300 charges 155 won per minute normal rate and 119 discounted rate on a landline; 162 normal and 119 discounted on a mobile line.

Normal hours are 9am to 7pm, discounted hours are 7pm to 9am... (well, yeah obviously)... and weekend, Friday after 7pm until 9am Monday.

For the UK it is 415 normal and 299 discounted.

HTH.
