Today my co-workers asked me a funny question:
"Why don't the foreign male teachers here in Korea look as handsome as superman?"
I sort of laughed it off, but they were serious! They really wanted an answer. I just said the would have to go to supermans secret planet to find really cute guys (wherever that is). And..........girls, if you have not seen the new superman, that guy is hot! Tall dark and handsome  |

Hot he is, but hetero he is not (or that's highly contested, at least).
I have the new Superman action figurine, btw (my mom works for WB, they give out stuff like this all the time - I didn't buy it, I swear!), and you activate the 'flying' sound by pressing his belt buckle which is daringly close to his crotch.
I know it doesn't mean anything, but I giggled anyway.  |

Something to amuse and tittillate you: When reading about Superman before it was released there was a report that they had to actually go back and edit the movie to shrink the size of his crotch with computers because it was big enough as to cause them to worry that parents and the like would complain.

I certainly have no info either way, but when this kind of thing happens, I always assume it's the insecure macho hetero types who spread these rumors. |

well just seen him on TV with his fiancee (or was she just his girlfriend) so it appears he is hetero  , albeit taken  |

Of course, there are also the gay militant types who consider anyone who snapped a towel at a cute dude in the locker room as proof of repressed gaydom.
Both are tiresome.
I've always found it ironic that on science threads people demand evidence, but on threads alluding to someone's sexuality, all that is needed is a rumor.
I do, however, automatically assume anyone who uses 'gay'/'ghey' as a put-down in any situation to be a closeted lady boy. No one else would feel the need. |
