Where is a good place to get my won changed into US$. I hear that Itawean is the best place, does anyone know of a specific shop that gives good rates? Is it worth it to carry the cash on the plane as opposed to tranfering it thru a bank, I am wiht Shinhan bank and they have a bad exchange rate and tons of fees. Can anyone share their expreience on getting won exchanged into $, cuz I gotta figure out where to do it quick.

If you are going to carry cash, then any exchange counter at any bank or money changer.
If you prefer NOT to carry cash and want to avoid the fees associated with wire transfers, then go to any bank and get an INTERNATIONAL money order or cashiers cheque.
Make it payable to yourself and get it in whatever currency you prefer. Cost will be about w5000 and you should get the overnight trading rate on your currency exchange.
When you get home, simply deposit it in your bank. Depending on your bank at home, they MAY hold the funds for up to 14 days to allow it to clear but there will be no additional fees.
