I was wondering if there were any worthwhile meditation courses or something in English. I live in Cheonan. Any feedback you've got would be cool. I attend a church, but I would like to learn more about Buddhist meditation while I am here.

there's a temple in SUYU called Hwa-gye-sa that provides dharma talks in English. the monk who gives the talks is a Lithuanian guy who is great. the talks are free and they offer temple-stays as well. just head up to Suyu, get in a cab and say "Hwa-gye-sa."

there are lots of foreigners and natives alike. have a good time.

Hi Very Happy

Saw your message and thought you might be interested in an email i was sent recently, so i've copied it below:

Inspiring Yourself into Practice! Challenge 3000 prostrations!

Have you been inspired enough in Buddhism? Then, put yourself into practice
this summer! `
Lotus Lantern provides those who inspired enough with an opportunity to
practice 3000 prostration and meditation in five different famous temples in
south of Korea on August 3-6.

Many think Sitting Meditation is all about Buddhist practice. However, for
beginners, it is not easy to sit down due to the pain and delusion. Thus
3000-prostration has been recommended as a preparatory practice for lay people
by a great Zen Master SongChol.

Zen Master SongChol(1912-1993) was one of great pillars of the 20th century.
Having served as both monastic grand master and Zen master of Koreas renowned
Haeinsa Monastery and then as patriarch of Koreas leading Chogye Zen Order.

The temples to visit have been the places where he was born, studied,
practiced, made his teachings and resided all his life. Lets share the great
spirit and teaching of SongChol this summer and put yourself into real practice
now!

For more details, please visit www.lotuslantern.net. or call 010-2240-3568.
