Dul Sot bi bim bop.
Had it today, delivered. Bowl was barelllly hot. I mean, there was no fried rice, not on the bottom even. I mean, it was as if the rice had just been put in the bowl.
The yellow of the egg was as if it had just been cracked from the egg. Not cooked AT ALL. I tried mixing the mess together, and nothing fried at all, and the egg just mixed in. Needless to say, I didn't eat it. But, when my secretary called to ask for another, the restaurant said that is how they make there dul sot bi bim bop. I call bullshit. But, has anyone else had this kind of dul sot bi bim bop?
I was royally pissed off, especially after my dumb-ass secretary accepted their explanation.
Side note: When you complain to your korean teachers or secretaries, especially about students, do you find they just react by making excuses for the students, instead of actually believing what you are saying? I would say it is my number one pet peeve in Korea at the moment.
Me: tell her to not cheat on tests
Teacher: she says she did not cheat
me: yes she did
teacher: yes, but she said she didn't. I think she is telling the truth
me: *beep* it
Korean teacher hits student for cheating on her test! |

Aren't you confusing 비빔밤 with 보금밥? |

Wouldn't a piping-hot stone bowl of dol sot bi bim bap be really dangerous to deliver?
Is it normal to order it for delivery and get it somewhat as hot as one might at a restaurant?
Just curious. |

nah.
dul sot means "hot pot" or something. it's bibimbop, but with a hot pot. everything else is pretty much the same. live on the stuff at work, but changed restaurants, and got a luke warm pot, that couldn't fry the rice. |

You are correct.
When delivered, it comes in a regular bowl. |

Re-read my first post again. wasn't like that. Like I said, I order the stuff every day. You get a hot pot, and rice on the bottom is crunchy-fried, and then you mix it in, and you get a cooked rice mixture. This one from a new restaurant had 2% heat, no crunchy rice, just rice as you would have as a side dish from the stainless-steel bowls. No heat meant raw egg as well, ummmmmm, salmonella. |
